berkeley adventure

little miss siouxsie needed a check and had to head over to oakland VW. (i am going to give a plug out to them) if you have a volkswagen and need your car to be serviced. i can not express enough, you must head over to oakland and get your car serviced by the dealership. i never cared for dealership service guys. but this is definitely an exception. their prices are fair. the service, most excellent. see marin. he is awesome. he makes me feel like a customer. not just a number. he goes above and beyond to make sure you are well taken care of.

anyhoo.... that meant a mini adventure. i dragged along dustin with me! what little treat did we find?

URBAN ORE
they make recycling an art form. functionality at its best!!! treasures to be found!!!

sewing machines?! omg that is what i am talking about!!

the prices are fair! someone's trash may indeed be YOUR treasure!!!

then we headed on over to 900 grayson
we ordered the "demon lover"

yummmm....so far this is my favorite chicken and waffles place in the bay area!!!

oyaji in the richmond

oyaji is located in the richmond district
3123 clement st (cross street is 32nd)
san francisco, ca 94121

we have been wanting to visit this quaint restaurant for quite some time now...
i am glad that we had the opportunity to do so today!

for lunch... we ordered tonkotsu ramen $8.50

it did have a nice flavor. mildly rich. noodles perfectly al dente. flavored boiled egg, over boiled and tasted like it was boiled directly in the soy sauce. the chashu or char siu was cooked thoroughly and had a lot of flavor. i would try the ramen again...just to see if the egg was over boiled in this batch.

buta kakuni $9

this is by far the best buta kakuni (braised pork belly) i ever had!! perfectly cooked with tons of flavor. the pork easily "shredded" with a chopstick. the fat easily melts at the touch of your tongue. i thought it was worth every penny.

katsu curry $8

the katsu was buried under all the curry. the flavor of the curry was nice. potatoes were cooked down and soft. rice had a nice texture, not dry nor too wet. could not tell what kind of grain they used. i can be a rice snob at times. hehe

here is a picture of the lunch menu

if you ever have a chance, you should try it! on june 22nd, fresh and easy opens. so stop on by before you do your grocery shopping!

japan maui and my poor phone

i luckily had the opportunity to go to osaka! what a treat! my company changed the hotel we use, to the umeda hilton, and what a treat from the hyatt. there wasn't complimentary wifi available in the room, boooo.

i admittedly do miss the warm seats on the bidet attachment.
i decided to hit the dotombori and go to don quijote.

my all time favorite "junk shop" 6 floors of absolute chaos. i was deliriously tired and did not have the opportunity to take pics but for some strange reason remembered to take pics when i went to use the bathroom.

i got to don quijote around 6am and look at the mess. the girls left behind their trash. curling iron clam shells. costume bags. ummm...what in the hell was going on in there. shoplifting? an instant update to their "outfits"? an immediate purchase then off to a quick change?! who knows.
if you head out to japan you NEEEEEEED to check out this store. they are everywhere and worth the trip! :)

i am not sure if this guy is homeless. but he travels with his entourage of animals. he has a few kitties in this "rolling condo" and a dog. he is usually under the underpass. his animals are well kept and well behaved considering all the traffic. the kitties are calm and collected. well fed and adoooorable.

view from the sky landing into sfo...

when i got back. my phone decided to quit on me. literally.

ugh...as i type, i am streaming the live blog feed from WWDC via engadget. waiting for the news of a new iphone...maybe?

as i am looking through my thumbnails of photos...i see a tiny thumbnail of a person carrying a purse...and thought to myself, why did i take a picture of a "purse"

low and behold its miu. i thought she was a bag. lol

she loves to sleep with the monsters...she too is a monster
have a great week!!!!
