a great little place to buy meats! she will cut it to the size you want! no hormones! i try to buy all my meat here. the pricing is pretty decent too! they are known for their sandwiches! i have yet to try the sandwiches! but everyone seems to agree that they have AWESOME pastrami sandwiches!!!

local haunts

i am going to start my "local haunts" things in the city or in the neighborhood that i enjoy being a patron.
i do try to buy local or indie as much as possible. try to support the little guys! my bf and i tend to eat out a lot!!! the cost of cooking a meal for two is more expensive than for us to eat out. *sigh*
so here we go....

my vacation

my vacation unofficially started off in portland. my ninja sister flew up for just the night from hawaii to see sara bareilles in concert.

and what i found weird was that all over portland i would see blocks and blocks of roach coaches!! amazing!!! supposedly great food come out of these places. we literally flew in and out so i did not get the chance to enjoy any of these marvelous food joints...

what was cool, she pulled up an audience member up to the stage to sing along with her!!

i got a major score!!!

tucson, arizona

we check into thehistoric hotel congress, DILLINGER stayed here before getting caught...

yes this switchboard is in operating order and they still use it!!!

yes we stocked up on snacks...

the rooms are kept the same from way back when....no t.v. they just got air conditioning installed last year. plumbing could use some work too...you either got cold freezing water or scalding hot...and the shower pretty much trickled...i still enjoyed myself...

there are a lot of vintage shops and cute art installations as we made our way onto 4th ave....

this trash can was made using bike parts!!

we started to set off on for a bite to eat to bison witches...pretty awesome bar food and not to mention cheap cheap cheap!! $2 domestic bottles and check out this huge order of nachos...they literally got a cafeteria tray...dumped out the chips, dumped some chili, cheese and jalapeno peppers all for under $7!!

d and i had to basically split a reuben sandwich...

so bring your appetite...

looking for some happy hour deals...we come across the
district tavern
happy hour went on til 8pm! $2 well drinks!! WOOT WOOT!!!

yea i think i had one too many....

goodbye tucson...
